Daisy's Hair Shop era

Some clients you remember for the cut. Others you remember because they made you laugh so hard you nearly took the mirror out with your coffee. Jodi was very much the latter.

Back in the Daisy's Hair Shop days, Jodi was a regular — and a brilliant one. She suited the neutral palettes, gravitating either towards a full bleach or working with her own natural base colour, always run through with flashing to bring texture and movement into the cut. It was a look that suited her completely: a little androgynous.

That editorial quality wasn't just in my head, either — Jody's hair made it into the magazines during this period, which still feels like a proper mark for the team at Daisy's at the time.Jodi featured on a few occasions in the magazine’s with different variations of her signature crop.

Dave Sutton took the photographs as he was the photographer for all the Daisy images during that era.Always appreciated.

The one image here started life in black and white ( which i show) with jodi wearing a black top which I also depict her in a crisp white shirt and Sam brown belt because I can and so did- and it I think it looks great!

I recently ran that one particular image back through with some AI colourisation, mostly because it felt like a shame to lose the warmth of that flashing — the contrast between the darker base and the lighter pieces through the top section was too good to leave monochrome. It's been interesting seeing a piece from that era get a kind of new life this way, sitting alongside the original colour reference shots from the same period.

Mostly, though, these are reminders of great times with great people.
