FREE COVID-19 MINI MAKEOVER

During lockdown, when everything felt heavy and COVID had taken so much from so many people, I wanted to do something small and kind. So I offered a free mini makeover — just a little lift and enhancement on colour, and a little haircut. Nothing dramatic, just a small lift for someone's day.

Carrie came in for hers. I didn't know her as a client before this — it wasn't about building a portfolio or a following, just wanting to do something good during a genuinely horrendous time for everyone.

The process itself was quick and simple: some hand-painted colour worked through in sections rather than a full head of foils, brightening and lightening through with a soft caramel warmth, paired with a little shape and trim to freshen the cut. Understated, low-fuss, but it gave her a lift that showed in her whole face by the end of it.

The images were taken during a warm sunset so it’s very hard to see the real colour in that warm light. They were caramel with lighter flecks but she did look beautiful in the images.
